Starting It Off On the Right Foot
We had talked about doing something on New Year's Eve to welcome in the New Year. We really had. But when it came down to it, we were all so tired that the idea of doing anything at all just didn't appeal to us. So, we went and got take-out and Zach went to a sleepover where he actually did get to stay up and celebrate. We, at home, on the other hand, stayed up until about 8pm playing computer games and watching TV as the girls played upstairs fixing up their cardboard castle that they have been working on since the day after Christmas.
The next day, we decided to have a quiet little celebration since we didn't get to the night before. We invited some family friends, whom we enjoy and celebrate almost every holiday with, and we played games, munched on Fresh Smoked Salmon and had us some Bubbly.

We just had a little fun taking pics of the kids. Ranoah had some fun with it, too. (I may have to keep an eye on her.)
The kids had fun with the bubbles and fizz in the fancy glasses. (The glasses that we only use once a year.) Since we didn't feel comfortable letting six young kids tap their glasses for a toast, we simply handed them off after exclaiming that we are excited to bring in a new year with some of our closest friends, who we almost think of as family away from family.

Happy New Year!
Love the pictures and love that you were able to spend time with good friends.
I love that picture of Ranoah laughing. So cute!
I know it's cheesy, but I love sparkling cider, too! We should do that next year with out kids.
