Happy Birthday, Skylah!

She's 3 years old as of August 11th, 10:03pm. The kids awoke and sang Happy Birthday to her that morning, but we didn't celebrate until tonight at Grandma's house, during our traditional Sunday Dinner. However, she did get a card from Papa & Nana which made her day, that was a Cinderella Card, or better known as a "Princess!!!!" card! She was thrilled!!! She also got to talk on the phone with Grandma Payne, and found out she had another card and gift in the mail from them as well. Now she was just getting spoiled and loved by her grandparents!!
Shawn and I had a dear friend make her, what turned out to be, an awesome hand puppet theater curtain and some hand puppets. She was so thrilled. Grandma Holcomb got her a dancing ribbon, flashlight with picture disks to shine on the wall & one of those toys that has all those dull pins in it that you can imprint shapes and such in and have lots of wasted time on fun with! (I mean that in a good way.) The kids all took turns trying to find what they could get little prints of around the house. While at other times they all did their own versions of the 3 Little Pigs with the new puppets.

Skylah is not a Frosted Cake gal, and so we made a Strawberry Shortcake cake. Literally.... I bought an Angel Food cake, sliced it into three layers, whipped up some Powdered Sugar-Cool Whip frosting and sliced up some Yummy Strawberries and put it all together. Everyone ate up at least 2 slices, it was so yummy!

Happy Birthday, Skylah. You have been a beautifully sweet challenge of a daughter so far! We love you!

What a great birthday! Your family is so involved, it is wonderful! Nick will be 3 in December and that cake is the best idea ever! (Since none of the adults liked my tofu chocolate pudding) Sounds like a wonderful day that she will remember, and the hair looked great!
