Making Kimbap (KIM - pop)

We have started a weekly tradition of eating Kimbap in our home! As most of you know, Shawn went to Seol, Korea to serve a mission for our church during 1996-1998. One of the things he took home with him was the knowledge of how to make some of the yummiest foods he had been able to taste there. Kimbap is similar to Japanese Sushi, in the way that it consists of rice, seaweed and is rolled and cut. However, Kimbap, in my own biased opinion, is tastier, and more appealing. We try many different ingredients each time we make it, but this time we recorded it!! We have actually eaten it again at least twice since taking these pictures last week!! Yummy!!

First~~ Take your Kim (dried seaweed), hot steamed rice & other ingredients. We like fresh asparagus from our garden, flat-cooked scrambled eggs (sliced), julienned cheese, carrots, browned meat & anything else you want to try that night. Along with some Chilli-Soy paste or Hoisin Sauce (Hoisin is very flavorful without any heat from spice) for extra flavor and moisture.

Did I mention the kids LOVE to eat the

Kim while I make the Kimbap?!?!

Roll it up and slice and Eat Up!!!......

We Did!!!.....
